fall into some style

it is almost time to put away your bright summer clothes and bring out those tans, browns and maroons! see yah white pants and helloooo boots. welcome back sweaters and dark nail polishes! i love being able to wear shorts during the summer with a tank, but nothing beats fall fashion! velvet, tweed, corduroy, denim, silk… ahhh I am getting excited just thinking about all the upcoming shopping I am going to do, unless someone wants to do me a favor and PLEASE cut up my credit card.

as i have mentioned in a previous blog post, the 70s are back and in full swing, so a good  amount of these fall must haves are 70s inspired. bust out those wide leg jeans and felt hats cause this is going to be one hell of a season.

lets start out with the obvious, a striped sweater. something that will never go out of style (I seem to have about a thousand striped sweaters… all the same color!) so when shopping for your sweater try and go for thick chunky stripes.

the mid-calf-skirt. I know it might not sound like the sexiest thing to wear and will probably repel all men but if you love clothes, and don’t really care about picking up guys, this is what you need. pair it with platforms and add some layers on top and you are set. just make sure the skirt falls just above or below the widest part of your calf, cause if not than girrrrl youre doing it all wrong.

the felt hat. bottom line is probably my favorite accessory for this fall season. with that said, go out and get one and add a little oomph to your outfit.

nothing screams sexy (or hooker) than a knee-high boots. keeping up with the 70s look, try wearing those boots with a long sheer dress (which are also in style this season). of course wearing them with jeans is fine too, but please, please, please don’t wear them with a short dress/skirt unless of course it is Halloween and youre going for the skanky look.

blazers. HUGE fan. so you could imagine my excitement when I read that a flannel or plaid blazer is a must have. i jumped for joy, did a few back flips and then proceeded to do some online shopping. why are blazers so awesome? because you can literally wear them with ANYTHING! over a long dress, layering it over denim, the casual look works too. seriously, you basically can wear these blazers during the day or at night.

corduroy. this is something I am a little iffy on. maybe because I was traumatized as a child.. remember when corduroy was in and your mother insisted you wear them. dresses  (you know the ones you were forced to wear to family parties during the winter.. ugh this is bringing back a lot of memories of me throwing a tantrum) , pants, the whole nine yards. Of course now I am open minded and I have actually considered trying on a pair of burnt red corduroy pants… I did say consider cause I am still working up the courage. But I shall and I will, fashion will prevail.

leather dresses, leather skirts.. fall is all about bondage. mini, pencil, a line you name it they all work. some of our fave celebs have been seen rocking leather lately, like jen aniston and blake lively. remember, you don’t have to stick to BLACK, bright colors do the job as well.

skinny, high-waisted denim. the perfect place to buy jeans like this is urban outfitters. They have them on the reg. I actually have a pair of black jeans from there, they are so comfortable and are high waisted. Oh and cheap!

the last must have, a little red dress. so toss the LBD’s and go get some LRD’s.

now you tell me you aren’t going to go spend your next paycheck at the mall!
